News, views, and gossip relating to Chelsea over the past 24 hours.

Chelsea could add another Brazilian to their midfield, according to the latest reports. Talksport claim the club are assessing Corinthians' midfielder Paulinho. Inter Milan are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old.

Teenage striker Islam Feruz hit a hat-trick for Scotland's under-19 side at the weekend, confirming his growing reputation as a striker to watch. Feruz, signed from Celtic, helped Chelsea win the FA Youth Cup last season. His three second half goals helped the Scots beat Switzerland 4-3. He has been backed to go on and become the country's next great striker.

Everton defender Phil Jagielka has spoke of the 'friendly competition' created by John Terry's retirement from international football. Jagielka and Chelsea's Gary Cahill are among those hoping to establish themselves in the heart of England's defence.

Chelsea are also being linked with the possible transfer of Bosnian defender Senad Lulic. To find out more about him click here. The 26-year-old plays for Lazio at left-back, but can also play in midfield. He could become a possible replacement for Ashley Cole.

Meanwhile another emerging alternative at left-back is Tottenham's Benoit Assou-Ekotto, according to the latest reports. It is thought the 28-year-old Cameroon international would be priced at around £10 million.

Talk of Cole's potential exit rumbles on, the the 31-year-old ready to look at other options. The Mail claims Real Madrid are interested, while also suggests Manchester United as a potential destination, although this is unlikely considering the recent bad blood between him and Rio Ferdinand. However reports out of Italy claim Liverpool could be interested in signing the defender when his contract expires next summer.

Chelsea outcast Florent Malouda's move to Brazilian club Santos could be back on. The winger is currently training with the club's under-21 side, and Lyon have also been linked with bringing him back.

Midfielder Ramires could miss his country's midweek friendly with illness. The Samba stars take on Japan tomorrow, and Chelsea will be crossing their fingers it is not anything serious, although at this point it does not appear so.

Former Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne has not given up on his international prospects. The 24-year-old is with Hamburg in Germany, and statistics show he is one of the top defenders in the Bundesliga so far this season.
