Villa Latest: Including El Ahmadi and Charles N’Zogbia

posted: 8 months ago

Villa Park

All the latest news surrounding Villa Park.

I can only start today’s round up by saying ‘Happy Birthday’ to my all time favourite Villa player, Tony Daley. The former Villa winger and England international turns 45 today. What a legend.

Charles N’Zogbia is happy to announce that there are ‘no big time Charlie’s’ at Villa Park. The winger states that Lambert is not the type of manager to pick players on wage earnings, reputation or international caps and is not scared to drop anyone. As he and Darren Bent know all too well. "It is good to have a manager like this. Sometimes in the past you could have a bad game and know in your head you were still going to play” says N’Zogbia.

"But when you know you have a bad game then you don't play, it makes you think, it makes you work harder.”

Fabian Delph has revealed how important Karim El Ahmadi is to Villa’s midfield and claims the Moroccan’s winning mentality is rubbing off on all at the club, "His enthusiasm to win is frightening. Everybody says they don't like losing, but Karim actually hates losing and his mentality rubs off on the rest of us.” Ahmadi is touch and go for the match against Fulham, after injuring himself whilst away on International duty last weekend.

Jordan Bowery admits that he is still in dreamland after his move from Chesterfield to Aston Villa on the last day of the transfer window. The young striker said, “If you’d said to me a few months ago that at the start of this season I’d be training with Benty and Gabby, I’d have thought you were joking.”

“Now I’m here it’s a brilliant experience being out there with these guys.” Bowery has yet to feature in the senior squad but continues to impress for the reserves.

Villa are hosting an open training session at Bodymoor Heath on Monday October 22nd, so that fans of all shapes, sizes, age and gender can get up close and personal with their heroes. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for under 16’s, tickets are still available.
