Manchester United are always in the transfer columns and this week has been no different. Which names, new and old, have been linked with moving to Old Trafford in January?
Ryan Shawcross
Manchester United have been linked with a move for their former youth team player. It would be slightly embarrassing if they had to pay a large sum for a player they reared themselves but Sir Alex is worried over his defensive frailties and sees the Stoke City player as an ideal solution.
Alen Halilovic
Many teams are chasing the youngster and United scouts watched him play for Croatia this week. He insists he does not yet want to leave Zagreb so United and the rest may have to wait a little while before securing a deal for the ‘Croatian Messi’.
James Rodriguez
Dubbed the ‘South American Ronaldo’ the Porto star is being earmarked as a potential replacement for the apparently departing Nani in January.
Robert Lewandowski
This one seems it won’t be happening after the Polish striker made his intention to stay at Borussia Dortmund very clear.
Domenico Berardi
We highlighted the potential deal for Sassuolo’s ‘next Francesco Totti’ not long ago and United have reinvigorated their interest in the Italian teenager after interest grew from Serie A rivals for his signature.
Richmond Boakye
Currently on loan at Sassuolo with Berardi the Juventus booked Ghanaian has caused a bit of a stir with reports in Italy claiming United want to sign the 19-year-old forward and Black Stars international.
Sime Vrsaljko
Cross-city rivals Manchester City have stepped up their interest in the Croatian talent which has invariably brought his name back into the papers as a Manchester United target. The right-back recently distanced himself from an exit but United could look to strengthen a weak area of the pitch with this purchase.
Nathan Redmond
Liverpool are now in the race for the Birmingham winger and Sir Alex does not want to miss out on the pacy flanker.
Bruno Gomes
According to some reports this is actually a done deal. He was taken on trial in March and has impressed United scouts enough to make a move for the 16-year-old who will sign a professional contract when he turns 18.
Brede Hangeland
Another option to United’s defensive issues is the Norwegian captain. The Fulham centre-half is in the final year of his contract at Craven Cottage and given his advancing years United are hopeful they could bring him in on the cheap.
Would you like to see any of these players at Old Trafford?
