He is stealing the headlines once again for Arsenal’s under-21 side and after an impressive pre-season the former Dortmund player Thomas Eisfeld is again causing a stir among the Arsenal faithful with some quarters starting to compare him to the great Freddie Ljungberg.
As Jack Wilshere scooped most the plaudits for a good display in The Gunners under-21 triumph over Everton it was Eisfeld who grabbed both the goals in an impressive display of midfield goalscoring from the German who has been tipped by former team-mate Mario Gotze to become as good as or even better than him in the future.
Here is some Twitter reaction to his performance in Monday’s fixture.
Eisfeld for first team anyone?

I want Gnabry and Eisfeld on the bench tomorrow night. Both are good enough.

Gnabry and Eisfeld are young and talented, players first teamers must thrive harder to compete with. #COYG

Surely Eisfeld has done enough now to prove that he is worth a place on the bench? At the very least, he scores goals.

I’m quite sure that we will see Eisfeld and Gnabry in the first team set up next season #Talents

Eisfeld looks like a brilliant player. He knows how to finish and can pick out a great pass. One for the future most definitely

With Arsenal in action against Schalke 04 at The Emirates on Wednesday night and after a rather deflated and blunt performance against Norwich City at the weekend could the talented 19-year-old be in line for a call-up to the first team after such eye catching form?
Would you like to see Thomas Eisfeld given a first-team opportunity?
