''Stewart Downing he scores when he wants''

Gabriel Obertan and Stewart Downing. The two have been disregarded by many a football fan over the past few months but scored valuable goals for their clubs in Thursday nights Europa League action. We take a look at some of the disbelief, humour and goodwill doing the rounds on Twitter for the two misifts.

Last night saw some real oddities in football as Stewart Downing and Gabriel Obertan both grabbed goals in Europa League action for Liverpool and Newcastle United respectively. The two have been the butt of many jokes in recent months considering their less than impressive recent impacts for their clubs and despite scoring last night the jokes did not stop.
