All of the latest news, views and rumours relating to Liverpool.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has launched an attack on the officials in charge of the match against Everton over the weekend. Liverpool were denied a late win thanks to an incorrectly ruled offside decision that prevented Luis Suarez from claiming the winner in the Merseyside derby.

Brendan Rodgers has described himself as frustrated but proud of the way Liverpool handled the latest Merseyside derby. Liverpool were 2-0 in front but were clawed back to 2-2 before they were denied a late winner for an incorrect offside decision. Rodgers says it’s all part of the learning curve for his younger players.

Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has said the club can take a lot of heart from the performance against Everton over the weekend. Allen says the club felt bitter disappointment as they thought they had won the match but he says there are a lot of positives to take from a match they were expected to lose.

Steven Gerrard has praised manager Brendan Rodgers for his tactical thinking in the draw against Everton. Rodgers switched the shape of the side to 3-5-2 in the second-half which Gerrard says allowed Liverpool to protect the point they had and go in search of a winner.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was lucky not to have been sent off against Everton according to David Moyes. The Everton boss commented on an apparent stamp by Suarez on Everton defender Sylvain Distin. Moyes has claimed that many players have been sent off for less this season.

Liverpool have been linked with Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse. Liverpool have made no secret of the fact they are looking to sign a striker this January as Luis Suarez is the only recognised front man at the club. Cisse is on a long contract at Newcastle so he would not be a cheap option.

The Reds have also been linked with a possible switch for Fulham centre-back Brede Hangeland. The defender is out of contract next summer and has not agreed a new deal with Fulham, with Newcastle also interested according to the Metro.

Heung-Min Son of Hamburg has dropped his biggest ‘come and get me’ plea yet by confirming that he has not held new contract talks with the German club. Liverpool have been linked with the versatile player who can play in an attacking midfield role or up front as a striker. He has scored five goals in nine games.

Liverpool are one of three clubs said to be monitoring the future of Genoa full back Mario Sampirisi. The 19-year-old has been linked with Manchester United since 2011 and rumours are now linking Liverpool with a move for the Italian Under-21 player. He fits the bill of Brendan Rodgers’ youth policy at the club perfectly.
