Brazilian starlet Lucas Piazon is being tipped for a start in tonight' game by ITV, with the match described as the biggest test of his career so far. Piazon excelled in last season's FA Youth Cup against Manchester United and will hope for repeat success. Piazon started in the last round against Wolves in the 6-0 win, impressing, despite saying he was disappointed not to score.
John Terry remains suspended for the match, and is joined by Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres who both received red cards against Manchester United on Sunday.
Juan Mata and Jon Obi Mikel are both expected to be rested, and spared the spotlight after the fallout surrounding allegations relating to Sunday's referee Mark Clattenburg.
In line to come in for Mikel is Spanish midfielder, Oriol Romeu. The 21-year-old says he is eager to make an impression, and force his way into the first team, playing just seven minutes of Premier League football this season so far. The midfielder added that after Sunday's defeat the team are extra motivated to win and progress to the next round.
Taking Ivanovic's place will be Cesar Azpilicueta, who came on as a substitute at the weekend. The young Spaniard signed from Marseille this summer is still bedding in at Stamford Bridge and this will be the most important game of his career so far, while Ryan Bertrand is set to come in at left-back as Ashley Cole is rested.
Opponents Manchester United have named their provisional squad for tonight's match, and it is as follows: de Gea, Lindegaard, Johnstone, Rafael, Evans, Keane, Buttner, Valencia, Anderson, Nani, Carrick, Cleverley, Fletcher, Powell, Scholes, Cole, Lingard, Vermijil, Tunnicliffe, Hernandez, Welbeck, Macheda, King.
