After some dramatic League Cup action in mid-week the Premier League returns to centre stage. Here are five betting tips for the weekend’s action.
Manchester United to win by two goals at 9/2 with Ladbrokes
Manchester United are odds on to beat Arsenal at Old Trafford so it’s key to look for value elsewhere. United have scored 13 goals at home so far this season which is the joint highest tally along with Chelsea. Arsenal have been shrewd away from home but have only managed to score six goals in five games which suggests they may struggle to trouble the United defence.
Stoke City to win at Norwich City at 15/8 with Stan James
Stoke are widely accepted as one of the most difficult teams to play against in the Premier League. They have a side which is physically massive and they will be looking to bully Norwich in this game. Stoke are still looking for their first away win of the season but they have drawn 60 per cent of their games which shows how effective their tactics can be away from home.
West Ham to get a draw against Manchester City at 16/5 with BetVictor
If you offered West Ham United a draw now for their match against Manchester City they would take it. The reason this is possible is because West Ham have a very good home record this season; three wins, one draw, one defeat, ten goals scored and five conceded. They also have a set of supporters who can create a hostile atmosphere for any visiting side. Manchester City have already drawn two games away from home which shows they sometimes struggle to close out games.
Reading to win at QPR at 10/3 with Coral
This is far too good a price to ignore. Reading and QPR are both down inside the bottom three but APR’s abysmal record at home this season gives Reading a real chance to get their first away win. QPR have only scored two goals in front of their own supporters and Reading will be hurting after their mid-week League Cup defeat at the hands of Arsenal when they were 4-0 up.
Newcastle to win at Liverpool at 5/1 with William Hill
Newcastle United are far too good a team for their current away form to continue. They have drawn three games and lost only one away from home which shows they are very difficult to beat. Mix this in with the fact that Liverpool have only won one home game all season in the league and it’s easy to see why the odds are appealing. Newcastle have the players, the manager and the tactics to get a result in this match.
