A late Norwich fightback and penalty save from Mark Bunn meant one of Tottenham's chances to win silverware went begging last night.
Credit to Norwich, who made 10 changes to their line-up from the weekend, and ended Tottenham's 21 year unbeaten streak at Carrow Road.
So while this morning it is hard for Spurs fans to look on the positive side, especially with rivals Arsenal landing a good quarter final draw against Bradford.
The standout positive for Tottenham last night was Iago Falque's performance. Here is what supporters had to say on Twitter about the Spaniard.
@officialtstone: On a brighter note, Falque looked excellent. Glad he's getting minutes, easily good enough #thfc
@joeshafreak: How the hell did we lose that match?! On a brighter note, Falque looks incredible, and Bale is back to his best! #COYS
@jabriant16: Falque is unreal
@rorymharvey: Start falqueagainst Wigan pleaseeeeeeeeeee!!!!
@patrickkwhelann: Falque looks like an amazing player
@tompainting: Wow Falque looks like a great player. Why hasn't he played any games in the league? Sigurdsson is so average
@nowshad7: remember the name - falque. what a talent.
@tommyfreeman91: AVB you have to give Falqué some more playing time!
@harrishotspur: Really think Falqué's performance today earns him a place in the starting XI vs Wigan and maybe for the PL until Sig and Demps settle #COYS
@debaser92: Best thing about Spurs tonight was Falque's display. He was excellent. Almost good enough to live up to the excellence of his first name.
@nickharden92: I was impressed with Hugo Lloris and Iago Falqué today, would love them both to start Saturday.
Do you agree with the praise? Should he start at the weekend against Wigan?
