A few weeks ago we brought you a fact-file on the talented teenage Argentine sensation who has courted the attention of Arsenal FC. Dubbed the ‘next Riquelme’ Leandro Paredes has those in Argentina apprehensively optimistic about his future.
You can immediately see why Arsenal would be interested in a player of this guild. A supreme technical operator he has a delightful first touch and his range of passing is exemplary. At only just 18 he fits the youth bill more than most and the possibility of sending him on-loan to Spain while any potential issues with a work permit arise would be perfect for this Spanish speaking talent.
Boca Juniors will not want to lose one of their star players at such a young age so may even negotiate a loan-back-deal if the price was right.
This weekend he scored his first ever goals for the Buenos Aires club and sent La Bombonera into raptures. The goals were part of a 3-1 victory over San Lorenzo which ended a five game winless streak and reignited title hopes for Azul y Oro.
The Buenos Aires Herald had this to say of his performance:
‘’Paredes’ all-action display gave the visitors’ defence a torrid time and the midfielder was one of Boca’s best attackers.’’
Not only did he grab a brace but both were tremendous goals from outside the area driven accurately into the bottom corner past Pablo Migliore in the San Lorenzo goal.
Check out both goals below…
