Liverpool have been handed a boost with the news that Andre Wisdom could be in the squad to face Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Early reports suggested Wisdom would miss out through a slight knock but he could now start at left back in place of Stewart Downing.

Liverpool’s hopes of signing Oscar Cardozo in Liverpool appear to be smashed. The Benfica forward has signed a contract extension with the Portuguese side which suggests that he is highly unlikely to move away from the club in the near future meaning Liverpool missing out on another transfer target.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has been nominated for the 2012 FIFPro XI along with 15 other midfielders from around the world including the likes of Yaya Toure and Xavi. Gerrard has passed 600 appearances for Liverpool and 100 caps for the English national team.
Former Liverpool player John Aldridge has suggested that the way the side defended against Swansea City last weekend is a real strength for the club. Swansea are one of the best passing teams in the league but Liverpool managed to keep them out in a goalless draw.
