Last season saw the likes of Daniel Pranjic, Khalid Boulharouz and Alessandro Del Piero leaving their clubs on free transfers after the expiry of their respective contracts. Currently the list of players going into the final year of their contract this season is much larger than at this point last term and with several big names and up-and coming forces all available to talk transfers from the 1st January.
While Carles Puyol is one of them he is widely expected to sign a new deal at Barca and AC Milan stopper Christian Abbiati is also exempt as he intends on retiring at the curtailment of the season.
Yet there is still plenty on offer with internationals from around the globe available.
Here is our European ‘Bosman XI’…

It is certainly a situation to keep an eye on and come January we will re-monitor the situation and assess who could walk away for free next summer.
Who would you want your team to pick up on a bargain?
