Brendan Rodgers says he feels Liverpool deserved a penalty in the 2-1 away defeat to Tottenham. Captain Steven Gerrard and striker Luis Suarez were both involved in incidents in the Spurs penalty box but appeals were waved away by the referee and Rodgers says they were the wrong decisions.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says his side do not deserve to be in their current position. Liverpool are rooted in the bottom half of the table and the gaffer suggests that bad refereeing decisions have cost his side and are a main reason they are just above the bottom three.
Liverpool are willing to pay £6 million for Tom Ince from Blackpool this January. National newspaper The Sun has suggested that Liverpool are ready to get a deal done quickly as they seek to stop rivals from snapping up the player with more lucrative transfer offers.
Liverpool have been linked with former Leeds United winger Max Gradel ahead of the January transfer window. Gradel is currently playing his football in the French first division and is thought to be a target for the club as they seek to take the pressure off of Raheem Sterling.
Raheem Sterling could leave Liverpool at the end of the season as a firm contract offer is yet to be made to the winger. Liverpool and Sterling’s representatives are locked in negotiations over a first professional contract for the Liverpool man who has exploded into the limelight this season.
Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has called on the club’s owners to strengthen the Liverpool side this January. Lawrenson suggests that Liverpool need to spend big money to get attacking players in, in order to improve the current situation the club is in.
Liverpool legend Ronnie Whelan has slammed the club and has said their current position ‘just isn’t good enough’. Liverpool sit in the bottom half of the table just four points above the relegation zone and Whelan says he doesn’t buy into Brendan Rodgers’ attempts to sugar coat recent performances.
Liverpool defender Jose Enrique says he is happy to play anywhere under current manager Brendan Rodgers. Enrique continued in his attacking role for Liverpool in the defeat away at Tottenham and the Spaniard says his new role doesn’t concern him in the slightest.
