Liverpool striker Adam Morgan scores again in NextGen Series

Mark Bright seemed to be highly critical of the Liverpool striker despite what looked a good performance against Borussia Dortmund. Take a look at what happened next...

Liverpool kept their hopes of advancing to the second round of the NextGen Series alive with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund at Langtree Park, St Helens last night. Conor Coady grabbed the first two goals while Adam Morgan also got on the score-sheet.

Both players have recently featured for Brendan Rodgers increasingly youthful Europa League side so are clearly doing the business in the under-21 team, who are currently unbeaten domestically, to grab the attention of the Liverpool boss.

Kristjan Adorjan also stood out once again but the performance of Morgan was another bright reminder of his talents. I used the word Bright on purpose because one person who seemed to be very harsh on the talented striker was Eurosport commentator Mark Bright. The former Crystal Palace man must have got to Morgan with his commentating after the youngster posted this Tweet…

Bright knows a thing or two about good strikers. He played alongside Arsenal legend Ian Wright at Crystal Palace and scored 167 league goals in his career so should be considered an expert on the matter. However Morgan did earn the penalty for Coady’s second goal as well as troubling the German defence and goalkeeper Cedric Wilmes throughout before grabbing a goal himself by cooly rounding Wilmes and slotting the ball home. Just moments later and Morgan almost made it four with a curling effort from the edge of the box that struck the bar so the criticism seems a little harsh at best.

Morgan is of course highly talented and hopefully he has thick skin and can take any criticism positively in order to prove to Bright the next time he sees him why he is highly rated and capped by England at youth level.
