Tottenham Hotspur won for the second game on the bounce last night after overcoming Liverpool 2-1 at White Hart Lane. While much of the focus was once again on the barnstorming display of Gareth Bale down the left-hand-side and his comically slapstick own-goal another performance caught the eye of Spurs fans. Despite Brendan Rodgers claiming he ‘assaulted’ Steven Gerrard in the box Moussa Dembele reigned supreme once again in the middle of the park highlighting how important the summer signing is to the Tottenham cause.
So far this season Spurs have played seven Premier League games in which Dembele has featured and are unbeaten; winning six and drawing one. The draw against Norwich was the only blip in his otherwise blemish free start to his Spurs career and he scored in that fixture so he can be let off for that one I am sure.
In fact his good form extends beyond Tottenham in the Premier League; in all competitions for Fulham, Spurs and Belgium this season the midfielder has only been on the losing side once out of 16 matches when Fulham were defeated 3-2 at Old Trafford in his final game for The Cottagers and his importance is clearly being noticed by the Tottenham faithful.
Here are some reactions from Twitter…
Dembele is still one of my favorite players in the Premier league, I can't wait to see him back at the cottage on Saturday

Gareth Bale rightly getting the plaudits after last night. But Moussa Dembele was not half bad either. Still prefer him to Modric.

Moussa Dembele: 5 starts for Spurs in the League, 5 wins, 12 goals scored & just 5 conceded.

Dembele won more tackles, created more chances and completed more passes than any other Spurs player in the first half.

Does anyone else think dembele can be a better fit for spurs than modric? Would modric have made a last ditch tackle like dembele? No!
