As Manchester United celebrate the news that Nemanja Vidic might in fact be fit for the Manchester derby with City on Sunday the Blue side of Manchester have their own chunk of injury news to deal with. Spanish wizard David Silva, who has recently looked back to his best, has been ruled out of the Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
He has struggled with hamstring problems since picking up the injury on international duty with Spain in October and Mancini admits it will be touch and go in terms of him making the highly anticipated Premier League clash:
‘’We don't know if he can recover for the derby. We will try,"
While obviously Manchester City have an abundance of talent available to replace the midfield playmaker it will still act as a motivational catalyst to the Manchester United players that arguably their rivals most creative player may just miss the most important game of the season so far.
Here are some Tweets from both jubilant United fans and concerned City followers…
I really hope David Silva doesn't turn up against Utd ! #mufc

I think it's too good to be true that David Silva is a doubt for the derby. Mancini and his mind games, that's what it is. #MUFC

David Silva is a major doubt for the debt, due to hamstring injury. Only good news that, as he is an exceptional player

However Swedish striker John Guidetti revealed on his Twitter account that Silva was back in training so it may be just mind games from Roberto Mancini...
