Xabi Alonso was linked with a return to Liverpool yesterday by the Express, claiming the midfielder could rejoin the side he left in 2010 this January.
It is claimed Real Madrid could cash in on the Spaniard, due to the fact he has not signed a new contract, although it sounds quite fanciful and far-fetched to us.
But don't take our rebuttal of the rumour alone, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has had his say.
He has warned Liverpool fans not to get their hopes up.
By the way Xabi Alonso is not going back to Liverpool any soon. Not sure where that comes from

@ollieholt22difficult to go back to a club where you reached such heights and where things have changed so much

So what do you think, is an Alonso return just pure dream-like speculation by the Express, or is there any chance he could return to Anfield?
