(NASDAQ: GOOG) Gmail briefly went down Monday and its Chrome web browser repeatedly crashed, users reported.
Google's status page also confirmed that there was a "service disruption" for Gmail.
Twitter users sent tweets about not being able to access their Gmail account and about continuous Chrome crashes. The hashtag "Gmail" also was a top trending term on Twitter around midday Eastern time.
(NASDAQ: GOOG) did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
