Raul Gonzalez... Remember him? Who doesn't remember the legendary striker, but while most will remember him for his time with Real Madrid, few will ever talk about his spell in the Bundesliga with Schalke.
Back in 2010, the Spanish striker arrived in Germany after seeing his form dip in La Liga and at the age of 32, many wondered how well the three-time Champions League would do in a different league.
Two years later and Raul had scored an incredible 40 goals in 98 games and was given a heroes goodbye when he announced he would be leaving the club.
He had moved from Real Madrid with his career seemingly at an end and created one more success story, one that he will remember for years to come.
That story of Spain's second all-time leading scorer leads me to that of David Villa, Spain number one goalscorer and his much talked about future.
Villa has played for four different clubs in Spain's top flight but has a similar career to Raul's in terms of goalscoring and Spanish media have often compared the two.
But in the last year at least, Villa has seen his career take a different step, his injury suffered in the 2011 World Club Cup and a loss of form has seen him in and out of the Barcelona side much like Raul was for Real Madrid at the latter end of his time at the club.
It is fair to say, Villa needs a change and whilst a move to England has been talked about, I cannot help but feel he would be better suited to following in Raul's footsteps once more and moving to the Bungesliga.
Aged 31, Villa's youth is behind him, injuries have plagued him and several Spanish forwards are now started to catch the eye of national coach Vicente del Bosque.
Guardiola famously signed El Guaje in 2010 and would have no qualms to do so again, if the former Valencia man wanted the move.
It may seem unlikely and granted Pep has only just agreed to take over, it's a long shot, I grant you that but for a player, one of Spain's greatest, who is seemingly lost at the moment, a move to Bayern Munich may just be what he needs.
