The Evening Standard are reporting that Lewis Holtby is 'desperate' to link up with Spurs this month rather than wait until the summer. The paper claim that while the German midfielder won't 'rock the boat' at Schalke, he would prefer to sign early, despite the prospect of Champions League football with his current club between now and the end of the season. The two clubs are negotiating to transfer him before the transfer window closes, but remain at odds over the fee.
Despite a mystery English club making a late bid, The Mirror are reporting that Yann M'Vila has this evening joined Russian side Rubin Kazan. Rennes confirmed on their website: "After the traditional medical visit, the Rennes midfielder joined the Russian club officially on Wednesday evening."
American attacker Clint Dempsey says he wants to 'kick on' and Spurs, describing his goal against Manchester United as 'the one he needed' to do so.
He said: "I had a bit of a slow start to the season, so it is good to be repaying the club back for their faith in me. They brought me in to score goals and I have been able to start chipping in with them. Hopefully I can continue as the season goes on.
"Before this season I never really scored against Man United, to to get two goals against them is great. I feel more comfortable with the team. It was difficult for me not having a pre-season with the team. I had a bit of a slow start, but now I feel comfortable and I feel confident."
Midfielder Scott Parker has claimed the rest period he had during his injury lay-off has done him good.
