Chelsea have bowed out of the Capital One Cup, defeated 2-0 on aggregate by Swansea City.
Instead of the headlines focusing on Michael Laudrup's excellent side and Rafa Benitez' uninspired one, they are focusing on an incident at the end of the match which saw Eden Hazard handed a red card.
It was quite unprecedented, and an FA investigation could ensue. After recent well documented events, it is a drama Chelsea could have done without.
If you haven't seen the shocking incident, you can watch a GIF of it here.
His actions prompted quite a reaction on twitter, with everybody from Joey Barton to Rio Ferdinand chipping in to have their say.
Here is a selection of comments:

Both the kid and Hazard were in the wrong. Not having Hazard tried to hurt him though. He just tried to toe poke it out of his grip.

What have I just witnessed?! A ball,a ball boy,a player + a red card..u would never have imagined all that could go together in 1 sentence!

What I am reading about Hazard? Kicked a ball boy! What?
— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) January 23, 2013
First and foremost you can't kick a ballboy but hazard was surely just trying to get the ball back, wasn't malicious !

Rafa Benitez will need to be careful here on interview re Hazard. These incidents have a habit of growing arms and legs. Nip it in the bud!
