United’s official sponsors alcoholic beverage company Singha have announced today that they will extend their current deal with the club by three years, taking the sponsorship deal to 2016.
In team news, Nick Powell has recovered from his recent knock and has returned to full training ahead of United’s clash with Southampton tomorrow evening. However both Ashley Young and Jonny Evans are unlikely to be fit in time for the fixture due to knee and hamstring injuries, respectively.
Southampton are still concerned over the fitness of Adam Lallana and both Guilhermo do Prado and Jose Fonte are out for the Saints with knee injuries.
United defender Phil Jones has revealed his dilemma over his position in the team after some impressive displays in midfield, which may influence manager Sir Alex Ferguson when he picks his back four.
Jones is a recognized centre-back but believes he may have ‘shot himself in the foot’ with his form and presence in midfield.

Meanwhile the president of the Kenyan FA has revealed that Celtic starlet Victor Wanyama will join ‘one of the two biggest clubs in the world’, amid speculation that both United and Arsenal are scouting him with a view to bringing him to the Premier League.
"Wanyama will soon be joining one of the big two clubs in the world," revealed Sam Nyamweya.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United intend to make a ‘late £10 million swoop’ for Wanyama this transfer window.
CSKA Moscow midfielder Pavel Mamaev has revealed his dream of playing for United was very nearly realized and was ‘80% complete’ when he was refused a work permit and, subsequently the transfer deal collapsed. The Russian explained,
“I was in shock, it was such a dream transfer. The deal was around 80% complete, but with my limited number of caps for Russia, I couldn’t get a work permit.”
The Metro claims that United are set to face competition from Barcelona in their efforts to capture Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm. Sir Alex Ferguson is rumoured to be interested in bringing the 29-year-old in as a potential replacement for David De Gea.
