During his time at AC Milan Italian international Gennaro Gattuso was one of the most feared hard-men in the European game. The bearded midfielder often did not get the credit he deserved for his ability as a player due to the fact most of the time he trudged around the pitch snarling at everyone who crossed his path.
A hard-hitting tackler with a tendency to, in the words of a certain wresting superstar, ‘run his mouth’ one of his most infamous moments occurred when he decided to pick on Joe ‘Jaws’ Jordan during a Europa League tie with Spurs in 2011. Picking on Jordan may have been a mistake considering the Scotsman’s own reputation as one of the hardest men to play the game.
Nowadays a 35-year-old Gattuso is seeing out the final years of his career with Swiss outfit FC Sion; where he plays alongside another former Rangers player Kyle Lafferty. Captain of the club he is currently leading the side during a four team title chase with St Gallen, Basel and Grasshopper but it is his extra-curricular activities that have caught the eye recently.
Unless you have lived under a rock for the past year (in which case I envy you) you will unfortunately be very much acquainted with the song ‘Gangnam Style’ and more so the dance that goes with it.
It has already been adopted by Mainz striker Adam Szalai as his favoured form of celebration and now Gattuso has been recorded doing the dance on a Swiss rooftop; with all the enthusiasm of a child about to be inoculated.
Here it is below; maybe he isn’t so scary after all?
What next…Joey Barton doing the Macarena?
Don’t hold your breath!
