England won out as 2-1 winners against Brazil last night at Wembley after goals from Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard either side of a Fred equaliser proved conclusive enough to defeat the five-time world champions.
While many people took in the game at an unfortunately commonly occurring theme of a subdued Wembley atmosphere there was as always a few footballers and celebrities in attendance.
Two such people that fit that criterion would be Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong and UK grime artist Lethal Bizzle. The two are cousins and their relationship is made more famous for the population of the phrase ’Dench’ and the clothing range the two launched together with the same name.
That being the case they often interact with each other on Twitter. Frimpong is one of the most active professional footballers on the social networking site and together with his rapper cousin they have over 800k followers on the site and counting so are always quick to give each other a mention when necessary.
I am also sure that Lethal Bizzle would not mind me sharing this information. I personally feel we are acquaintances after my house-mate at uni stepped on his microphone wire at a gig us two James Van Der Beek and Ben Affleck types had unwittingly strolled into at Junk in Southampton a few years ago. The look he gave us still resonates in my retina today and I like to think he probably remembers that.
It was already a bad night for Frimpong. Ghana had been knocked out of the African Nations by the side I tipped as dark horses for the competition Burkina Faso. But this morning his cousin revealed the rather embarrassing fact that Frimpong found himself mistaken by a fan for another professional footballer; Mario Balotelli:
Lethal Bizzle @LethalBizzle
- Awkward moment when a kid @ the #EnglandVBrazil game goes up to Frimpong & says "Balotelli can I take a picture" ha!
The hair certainly has something to do with it of course. But it was all OK as after the fan realised he was speaking to Frimpong he soon recited all the lyrics to the duo’s song Leave It Yeah:
Lethal Bizzle @LethalBizzle
- But then the kid realised it was Frimpong then sang all the #Leaveityeah lyrics to us. #HappyDays
Thank heavens for that; or the kid might have got Frimponged!
