BAFA names gaming nominees

BAFTA isn't all just about films and television, there's games too, and the group has just unveiled its nominees for the 2013 award ceremony, with 53 titles up for a trophy in 17 categories.

Journey, which swept to victory at the DICE 2013 awards, is up for Best Game, Best Design, Story and Original Music, as is The Walking Dead.

However, Journey also received nominations in the categories of Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, Game Innovation and Online-Multiplayer.

These titles will be facing some competition from Far Cry 3 and Dear Esther, which are both up for Artistic Achievement and Audio Achievement. Furthermore, Far Cry 3 is up for Action, Story, Best Game and Game Design, while the beautiful Dear Esther has been recognised in British Game, Debut Game and Performer.

Also up for Best Game is FIFA 13, which you have the opportunity to win on Xbox 360 or PS3 by entering in our competition with EA Sports.

Other notable titles in this year's nominees include Halo 4, Boarderland 2, Assassin's Creed III, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Mass Effect 3 and Dishonored, among many more.
