Worry not all of you David Villa fans, it’s nothing serious, just the minor issue of kidney stones.
Few would blame Villa for not taking part in the Champions League clash against AC Milan next week because the memory alone of passing those little stones is enough to make the eyes water.
However, all of the early reports suggest Villa will be available for selection, all be it from the bench, and may even be fit enough to take part in the club’s La Liga game this weekend.
Kidney stones are quite common so it won’t have the same crippling effect as a strained hamstring or any other common football injury, the timing is just an inconvenience.
If he is fit to face AC Milan then Barcelona will have a fully fit squad of players to choose from.
Xavi is also likely to recover from a slight knock which he picked up last week with the Barcelona captain arguably the most important player in the team.
The only exception will be Eric Abidal who continues his battle against his liver and tumour issues which not only threaten his career, but his life.
If Villa doesn’t make it, does it matter?
