RETRO-VIDEO: Fernando Redondo schools Manchester United

posted: 3 months ago

Inside Old Trafford

For old time's sake, here's a look at a classic piece of Real Madrid - Manchester United action.

When you think of Real Madrid v Manchester United, you usually think of the 2003 clashes, with Beckham's double at Old Trafford and the Brazilian Ronaldo's famous hat-trick.

But back in 2000 they met too, with a 0-0 first leg in the Bernabeu, United had fancied their chances to win the quarter-final.

Instead they were undone by a vibrant display of attacking potency from the Spaniards. The most memorable moment was Fernando Redondo's sensational nutmeg of Henning Berg, racing to the byline before squaring to Raul to tap in.

Real won the match 3-2, and Argentine midfielder Redondo remains a name which haunts United fans.
