Here are our picks...
GK – Bernd Leno
Leno is one of the youngest goalkeepers in the division at 20-years-old. He’s the current number one for Bayer Leverkusen so he wouldn’t be cheap but any top class in need of a goalkeeper could tempt him into a move.
RB – Gotoku Sakai
The right back for Stuttgart has started 16 matches for the club in the Bundesliga this year. He’s 21-years-old so would be a good investment and he’s aggressive having been booked four times and sent off once.
CB – Benedikt Howedes
Benedikt Howedes is a first choice centre back for FC Schalke. He’s started 19 matches for the side in the league and featured in all of the clubs Champions League games. At 24-years-old he has great maturity beyond his years.
CB – Martin Stranzl
The 32-year-old centre back for Borussia Monchengladbach who are currently eighth in the division. Worth a punt for a side with a smaller budget, not bothered about getting someone young in. He’s scored four goals so he’s effective in both boxes.
LB – Marcel Schmelzer
The first choice left back for Borussia Dortmund. The German champions would fight any side looking to sign this guy so it would take a very big bid and a high profile transfer to get him to move.
RM – Marko Arnautovic
This Werder Bremen winger could be available and there are several reasons to sign the 23-year-old despite the fact he gets booked regularly. He’s made 16 starts, one sub appearance, has scored five goals and has created five goals.
CM – Marco Reus
Don’t expect to see Reus’ name doing the rounds a lot over the next few months. He’s scored 8 in 18 for Borussia Dortmund this season and also has five in 14 matches at international level with Germany. There are few better attacking midfielders at the moment.
CM – Stefan Aigner
Frankfurt have been having a blinder of a season as they currently sit fourth and Stefan Aigner has been a large part of that, making 21 starts for the side, making seven assists and scoring seven goals. Could be a good bargain.
LM – Szabolcs Huszti
This Hungarian left winger has more assists in the Bundesliga this season than any other player, with nine. He’s currently contracted to Hannover which means he should be cheaper than going after one of the big side’s main players.
S – Stefan Kiessling
Kiessling is the joint top scorer in the Bundesliga with two other players. He’s bagged 14 league goals for Bayer Leverkusen who may be willing to listen to offers for the 29-year-old who has only ever played in Germany.
S – Robert Lewandowski
Another of the players with 14 goals and not a new name when it comes to a possible transfer. Any side that wants him will have to pay top money but he’s been consistent in all competitions for club and country.
