Franck Ribery doesn’t look like the sort of person you’d want to get into a fight with. However, one member of the German public blagged his way into Bayern Munich’s training centre and apparently tried to do just that.
Police were called after the individual was mistake for either Ribery’s brother or cousin who were due to visit him on that same day of training.
He apparently managed to blag his way in before a heated confrontation between the pair broke out which resulted in the authorities having to diffuse the situation to prevent any harm being done.
Strange and amazing. Anyone flying over to Munich for a holiday any time soon, just try to use your best German accent, claim to know someone and you may just get into the locker room to have an energy drink or two with the man himself.
It does highlight a major problem which Pep Guardiola will want to address when he takes charge at Bayern.
Privacy and security are two of the most important things to Guardiola as a person and as a coach. So hat’s off to this random member of the German public for exploiting the problem.
What’s more amazing is that the same man was spotted at the training centre just two weeks before. Why was here there then? Well apparently he was walking a dog and wanted to give it to Ribery as a present.
If he was trying to be ironic then he needs to fact check because Ribery went through a car window when he was younger, he didn’t get mauled by a dog.
Odd, very very odd.
Can you think of any bizarre incidents from this season?
