Blackpool are thought to be in talks with former Manchester United and Liverpool player Paul Ince over the manager’s job at the club. Blackpool have been without a permanent manager since Michael Appleton left to go and join Blackburn Rovers after a short spell with the Tangerines. His son Tom Ince remains a Blackpool player.
Huddersfield Town have signed Mark Robins as their new manager. Robin joins the club after leaving League One side Coventry City. Coventry earlier denied Huddersfield permission to talk to Robins until he made it clear that he wanted to join the Championship outfit.
Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson says he would be interested in another loan deal for West Brom’s Saido Berahino. The forward was on loan at the Posh last year but had to return to the Premier League club after he picked up a chipped bone injury in his knee.
Birmingham City have extended the loan deal for West Ham United’s Rob Hall. Hall will remain with the Championship side until the middle of March after his previous deal was about to expire. He’s already spent three months with Birmingham and has 12 appearances under his belt.
Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has said he will not rule out strengthening his team by dipping into the loan market. Pearson has been urged to make changes to the side following back-to-back defeats but he’s said he will not bring players in just for the sake of doing so.
Bristol City have signed Middlesbrough defender Stephen McManus on loan until the end of the season. The centre back had been linked with a move to Derby County last week but Bristol City have reacted the quicker to secure the defender who has made 26 international appearances for Scotland.
Stephen Ireland could join Leeds United on loan for the rest of the season. Ireland has been doing the rounds on plenty of Championship football rumour sites but he could be tempted to drop down a division by a move to Leeds, as they are a higher profile club.
