Mikael Silvestre had a mixed time in an Arsenal shirt. We say mixed, we mean disappointing; he was allowed to leave Manchester United for the Gunners in 2008.
By that time he was past his prime, and became another 'flop' bought by Wenger and a dodgy defender whose place was later taken by fellow Frenchman Sebastien Squillaci.
He made over 40 appearances for the Gunners in total, leaving in 2010 and has currently just signed a short-term deal with Seattle Sounders in MLS.
After the side's defeat to Blackburn in the cup, he sent an SOS to fellow Frenchman Patrick Vieira, former Arsenal captain - urging him to quit his role as head of development at Manchester City and help revive his former club's fortunes.
He tweeted Vieira a message along those lines, but couldn't resist a dig at the club's empty trophy cabinet.
@officialvieira go back to London and give Arsene a hand bro ! #rolemodele #legend#AFC #mcfc twitter.com/IamMSilvestre/…

The responses to Silvestre's tweet from Arsenal fans were quite vitriolic, with fans calling him Mr Potato Head - to Wenger's worst signing. Perhaps he should have thought before hitting send...
Should Vieira take Silvestre's advice?
