Manchester City latest: Featuring Reus and Neymar

The Daily Star believe that Manchester City will make a big money move this summer for Marco Reus and Jesus Navas. The Premier League champions have reportedly made improving their wide options their key priority this season and the Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla stars are being considered as the answer to their prayers. However the grand total cost of these acquisitions could amount to £65 million pounds.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been speaking about City’s hopes of closing the 12-point gap this season; insisting that both sides will drop points before the campaign is over. The United gaffer has stated that while he understands why his main title rivals would be speaking of United dropping points that both will do so.

The Express has carried a story claiming that Manchester City look set to miss out on one of their main transfer targets this summer - as Neymar seems set to sign for Real Madrid. There story comes from reports in Spain that Real president Florentino Perez has earmarked the Santos striker along with Gareth Bale and Isco as main transfer targets this summer. Another of which is Manchester City’s very own David Silva.

Manchester City’s players have joined the online craze by producing a viral video of themselves performing the ‘Harlem Shake’. The dance has become a huge online craze with plenty of videos uploaded to YouTube in the past few days and City’s version is up the with the best. You can see the video here.

Roberto Mancini pulled in his players for extra training yesterday with the hope that a little bit of old-fashioned hard work could give them an extra edge in their pursuit of Manchester United in the title race. Jack Rodwell also took part as he steps up his recovery from injury with the hope of playing some role in deciding where the title ends up at the end of the season.

Meanwhile another manager has been linked with the Manchester City job this week as Chilean Manuel Pellegrini has been earmarked as a potential replacement if they decide to remove the Italian this summer. The current Malaga boss has an impressive previous record with the likes of Villarreal but considering the financial struggles at the Andalucian club at the moment it is believed he may be looking for a change of scenery.
