EA has announced that it will release the final chapter of Mass Effect protagonist Commander Shepard's journey with its next two downloadable content packs, hitting the online Origin store on February 26th and March 5th.
Mass Effect 3: Reckoning and Mass Effect 3: Citadel will be sequentially released to the game's community, with the former title being free to all and the latter content pack telling the end of the hero's story.
While Reckoning will deliver free multi-player goodies and access to new characters, Citadel promises a "sentimental" farewell to Commander Shepard and represents Mass Effect 3's final update.
"The team has poured heart and soul into Mass Effect 3: Reckoning and Mass Effect 3: Citadel. As the launch of these chapters near, the feeling around the studio is bitter-sweet,” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series.
“We have always been humbled and driven by the passion of our fans for the Mass Effect trilogy. We hope fans will enjoy spending more time with some of their favourite characters - we have certainly enjoyed spending time creating them. We’re excited to release this final send-off for the trilogy and move forward into the future of the Mass Effect universe."
