Irate gamers angry that Sony didn't show off the look of the new PS4 at its recent New York event may take solace in the fact that the company's president says even he hasn't seen it.
Speaking to 4Gamer (via VG247), Hiroshi Kawano, president of Sony Computer Enterainment Japan, suggested the he hasn't seen the much-anticipated console, which saw its up coming games, features and controller shown-off but not the console itself.
While the executive has seen several prototype designs, he says he's not been in the loop on the final decisions, not even for the agreed-upon design of the Dualshock 4 controller.
"If I'm being honest, I also haven’t seen its final design," he revealed."Even the controller we showed today, I saw the final design around yesterday or so.
"I’ve seen numerous prototypes from when it was still codenamed ‘Jedai’, and I heard that an onboard touch pad was in the final specs."
Announced last Wesnesday, the PS4 was teased with a bombastic event that showed off its social features and some high-profile tiles, such as a new Killzone and Watch Dogs.
