Adele has won the Oscar for best original song for Skyfall, along with co-writer Paul Epworth, at the 85th Academy Awards in LA.
The London-born singer was hot favourite for the Oscar, having won the Golden Globe for the same category, as well as the Brit award for single of the year.
Skyfall is the theme for the 23rd official Bond film, also called Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig and directed by Sam Mendes; it recently became the biggest grossing film of all time at the British box office.
Skyfall the song proved a commercial hit in its own right, selling more than 2m copies worldwide and reaching No 2 in the UK charts and No 8 in the US.
