Everton are a club that have to rely on the success of their academy to produce the best young talent possible because they simply don’t have a lot of cash to spend.
Therefore, Everton fans have the right to get excited whenever the youth system at Goodison Park produces a front man who has something about him.
Make no mistake about the fact George Waring having a very long and successful career in professional football if he can keep himself fit and playing consistently well.
This lad has a lot going for him and if he can start banging goals in for the Under-21 side as soon as he gets a chance and continue to produce in the FA Youth Cup then David Moyes has a very simple choice in terms of giving him a shot.
He’s an absolute monster of a striker, well over six feet tall which gives him a natural advantage in terms of heading the ball and having a greater amount of strength than other 18-year-olds.
He cannot be compared to Marouane Fellaini because they are worlds apart but this is an aspect of Waring’s game which could get him into the team if Fellaini leaves at the end of the season.
Now at this stage of his career Wayne Rooney was already lighting up international tournaments, having made his Everton debut at 16, and if Waring can have half the impact his predecessor has had he will be a happy player.
He’s tasted success with Everton already having been part of the side which won the Premier Academy League title in 2010/2011 and he’s scored goals at every level he’s played for the club.
As Everton continue in the Youth Cup he is one to watch, having played a part in helping knock Arsenal out, and while next season may come too soon for him at Premier League level, don't rule it out entirely if he continues his progression and handles the step up to the under-21s well.
He may be a Chester boy but there are several reasons why he will remain loyal to Everton should he get a chance and the club will turn him for a profit in the future but they really should give him a chance because there are few other teenagers out there like him.
Everton fans, what do you know about this lad?
