We can all name a couple of players who have scored goals from inside their own half; Beckham and Alonso are a couple that instantly come to mind. It’s time to add 20-year-old Spanish centre back Jordi Amat to that list.
Amat didn’t quite score from inside his own half when he produced a stunning strike against Real Valladolid which made up for a mistake he made which led to a goal against his team just a minute earlier.
Amat hit a flat and low shot from just over the half-way line which flew in over the goalkeeper’s head and it’s arguably the best goal of that type because of the way he hit it.
