Bloomberg reports that RBS paid its top 10 executives about $31.3m in total compensation in 2012, compared with about $37.7m million pounds in the previous year, the Edinburgh-based lender said in a remuneration report Friday.
Chief Executive Officer Stephen Hester was paid $4.88m pounds for the year, up from $4.83m in 2011. He won’t receive a pay increase in 2013.
RBS’s head of U.S. operations, Ellen Alemany, is the highest-paid employee below board level, earning $7.13m in 2012, said a person familiar with the matter, who declined to be identified because the details are private.
