The news agency reports that Walters, who is known as 'Buz', will also become vice chairman of global investment banking when he joins Bank of America later this year, the memo said.
He will be based in Palo Alto, California and report to Chet Bozdog, global head of technology investment banking.
Bloomberg reports that Raphael Zagury, Bank of America’s head of creating derivative investments for wealthy clients at Merrill Lynch, said he resigned.
Zagury, a managing director who joined Merrill Lynch from Goldman Sachs Group Inc. about five years ago, was in charge of creating customized derivatives for Merrill’s so-called ultra high-net worth clients, according to its website. Before Goldman Sachs, he worked for Safra National Bank.
In the meantime, Bloomberg also reports that Mitch Cox, head of wealth management for the Americas at Barclays, is leaving the London-based bank.
Cox resigned to pursue his own interests.
Bloomberg also reports that Oliver Dobbs, who was CQS U.K. LLP’s chief investment officer of portfolio management, has joined BlueCrest Capital Management LLP to trade convertible bonds.
Dobbs, 48, started working at BlueCrest, a London-based hedge fund with $34bn of assets, this month, according to a filing published last week by the U.K.’s Companies House. He traded convertible bonds at a Citigroup hedge fund before joining London-based CQS.
And Reuters reports that HSBC is to appoint Guy Harvey-Samuel as the new head of its Singapore business to replace Alex Hungate, who is leaving the bank, it said on Friday.
Finally, Bloomberg reports that Eric Bensoussan, European head of equity structuring at UBS in London, has left the bank, according to two people familiar with the departure who asked not to be identified because the information is private.
