Former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has taken up the ice bucket challenge.

Former Spurs and Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is the latest name to participate in the ice bucket challenge, a fundraising charity designed to raise awareness for ALS.

The current Zenit Saint Petersburg boss was nominated by one of this current players at the Russian outfit and sportingly took up the challenge by posting a video on his official Instagram page.

Just before taking the plunge, the Portuguese coach read how his own nominees and two names on the list make for interesting reading – Roman Abramovich and Daniel Levy - the two men who have most recently sacked him.

The Blues owner Abramovich brought Villas-Boas to England following a successful spell at Portuguese giants Porto. His tenure at Stamford Bridge, however, was short lived as he was sacked within his first season.

Still renowned for an excellent tactician, Villas-Boas was quickly offered the Tottenham Hotspur job as Spurs owner Daniel Levy took advantage of his availability.

Despite setting a club record of 72 Premier League points in his first season in charge and having the highest percentage of league wins of any manager in the club's Premier League era, Villas-Boas was sacked in December 2013.

Whilst not being able to gain revenge on his former bosses on the field as of yet, the young coach has taken the next best option of wishing to see their reaction to a bucket-load of cold water drenching them in-front of the watching world.

The ALS Association helps encourage scientific research into the incurable neurodegenerative disease Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, and you can find out more about it and donate by clicking here.
