MMzS Bracelet

Over drinks the other day, we got together and counted how many of our friends had been laid off in the past two years. A scary sixty percent. Then we looked at what they went on to do. One, in particular, stood out.

For professional reasons (OK, because she's employed in banking again), we shall not be naming her. But we will describe her: tall, blonde, good-looking, and in possession of some seriously good taste. You can see this in her clothes, her bags and her jewellery, and it's her jewellery that we're concerning ourselves with now.

After our heroine was made redundant after seven years in banking she decided to take a break to get creative. She enrolled in several jewellery design classes, and graduated in June 2009 from the Gemological Institute of America in London. Then she found a jewellery workshop in Hatton Garden to make the pieces according to her designs, and launched her website in August 2010. All her pieces are handmade, made-to-order, and best of all, available now.

Her first range consists of elegant cufflinks in sterling silver (with or without cabochon-cut stones), a fabulous, chunky silver bracelet with her signature knot-design on the toggle clasp, a silver cuff with crocodile leather pattern, an equestrian-inspired leather bracelet, with her knot-design on the silver toggle clasp (this could very well be her signature piece), and a set of matching earrings, pendant and ring with a larger colored stone and our favourite detail: tiny diamonds where the prong meets the stone.

Her jewellery is a modern take on the classics. Just like her.
