Q - How long have you been in the industry, and what is your current job title?

A - I have worked in executive search for the last 15 years and I am the CEO of the NJF Group.

Q - Do you have a mentor and if so who ?

A - Although I don’t have any one specific mentor, I have had the pleasure to meet and work with many inspirational people during my life who have help shaped the way I conduct business.

Q - Are you by nature a pessimist or optimist ?

A - I am an optimist but I believe it is important to make sure you look at all eventualities. Generally speaking though, the glass is normally overflowing!!

Q - Which business leader do you admire the most and why ?

A - Although I have not had the opportunity to meet him yet, it would be Damon Buffini. He has built an incredible business portfolio, knows the value of hard work and speaks openly and honestly. He has an inspirational story and has established himself as one of the most influential private equity authorities in the world.

Q - What's the biggest lesson you have learned in your career to date ?

A - Don’t rest on your laurels, learn from your mistakes and focus on what you do best.

Q - What's your favourite business quotation or life motto ?

A - I have two - 'One team, one dream', and 'Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity, but cash is reality'.

Q - What's the best business book you've ever read ?

A - When Genius Failed: The Rise and Fall of Long Term Capital Management by Roger Lowenstein. It really demonstrates the transitory nature of success and how quickly failure can take hold. It teaches an invaluable lesson: to always be prepared for anything in business. I recommend it to all my new employees.
