He joins the firm’s Edinburgh office in a newly created role. Scott has accumulated 26 years of experience in the Scottish financial services sector. He has held a number of client facing and management roles, most recently as a private client investment adviser with Close Asset Management. There, in addition to responsibilities for a range of client portfolios, he provided advice on inheritance tax and Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) issues and conducted seminars on retirement options and investment planning for executives of FTSE100 companies.
Amongst his professional qualifications he is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holds a Diploma from the Personal Finance Society. Quilter started to provide clients and intermediaries with a dedicated East Coast presence in Scotland last year, when Alan Aitchison was appointed to head up the newly opened Edinburgh office.
Alan Aitchison, head of Quilter’s Edinburgh office, says: 'The last 12 months have been extremely busy. Such is the popularity of our style of personalised investment management services that we quickly recognised the need to strengthen our team to meet the demand. I am delighted that Scott has agreed to join us as he brings with him considerable experience of advising private clients on their investment needs and, crucially, knows and understands the Scottish marketplace'.
Quilter has steadily increased its investment management teams across its 13 regional offices, this new appointment bringing the number of new starters to eight since the beginning of the year.
