Quilter has announced the appointment of Mark Macleod, who takes up the role of Chief Financial Officer, subject to regulatory approvals.

This is the second appointment to Quilter’s main Board since the company’s change of ownership*. It follows the arrival at the beginning of May of new Chairman, former HSBC private banking chief, Chris Meares.

Macleod joins from Climate Change Capital (CCC) – an investment manager and financial adviser specialising in the low carbon economy - where, since 2011, he has been Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer. He joined the company in 2007. Prior to this he was a Partner and Chief Financial Officer Europe and Asia with Cantor Fitzgerald. He had previously held a variety of positions over a 12 year period with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, culminating in his appointment as Managing Director and Global Head of Finance for the Investment Bank.

Martin Baines, Quilter Chief Executive Officer said: 'It says a lot about Quilter that we have been able to attract such a high calibre person to the Company. Mark has extensive experience and expertise in business development and financial control within the investment management arena. This will prove invaluable as we press ahead with our plans to expand the business both organically and through acquisition.

Since the start of the year we have appointed 8 new people to the investment management teams across our 13 regional offices to ensure that we continue to provide clients with the high level of personal service for which we are noted. We will not hesitate to add to these teams when the right people become available'.

*On April 2, 2012 Private Equity firm Bridgepoint, in partnership with the Quilter management team, acquired the business from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
