Arsenal: Walcott, Bendtner, Mancini, Diaby, Remy, Julio Cesar

About Diaby

A round up of everything and anything occurring at Arsenal in the last 24 hours.

The Mirror reports that Theo Walcott will finally sit down and discuss an extension to his current expiring Arsenal deal sometime next week. The forward, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Chelsea has made no official comment on his position but is expected to want assurances about Arsenals plans in the future as he chases silverware rather then money.

Nicklas Bendtner could finally be on his way out of The Emirates after another team appear to be willing to make a move for the out of favour Dane. Offers from Galatasaray and AC Milan were reportedly tabled last week and now newly promoted La Liga side Celta Vigo are considering bringing the 24 year old to Spain off the back of an impressive Euro 2012, the Daily Mail reports.

Meanwhile ESPN report Roberto Mancini is appearing increasingly frustrated at Manchester City’s toothless attempts to bring in Robin Van Persie. In an outburst against chief executive Brian Marwood he seemed upset at the lack of new faces at Eastlands not to mention a lack of ambition to bring any in. It is good news for Arsenal fans on the same day that Juventus reportedly cooled their interest in the Dutchman after growing tired of the prolonged transfer negotiations and may turn their attention to Man City misfit Edin Dzeko as an alternative.

Abou Diaby has told Arsenal.com about the levels of confidence recent comments from Arsene Wenger have given him. After a difficult and injury ravaged season last time out the French international midfielder is looking forward to a more productive season this year and has the backing of manager Wenger to go with it. After playing a role in the entirety of pre season so far Arsenal fans will be excited to see him in action next season.

The Daily Star believes Arsenal face a battle for the signature of Marseilles forward Loic Remy, with north London rivals Tottenham and Alan Pardew’s Newcastle interested in signing the Frenchman. The pact front line player has been linked with a move to the Premier League for years and the Ligue 1 side seem willing to sell him at the right price.

And Football Italia believe Arsenal are willing to do battle with North London rivals Spurs once again for Inter Milan’s Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar. Considered at one point the best goalkeeper in the world he is expected to lose his place at Inter to Slovenian new signing Samir Handanovic next season and Wenger feels it would be a perfect way to put more pressure on relaxed number 1 Wojciech Szczesny.
