Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has said he is ready to get back into a Liverpool shirt as soon as possible despite a long term knee injury. Agger sustained a knock to his knee in the Premier League clash with Manchester United which was later revealed to be a tiny fracture. However, it is not severe enough to keep him out of action and seems to be manageable with pain killers.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to stick with youth for the Europa League match against Udinese. Andre Wisdom, Jonjo Shelvey and Daniel Pacheco are all expected to play for the club in the group game against the Italian giants. Liverpool won their first Europa League fixture 5-3 away at Young Boys and this is their first match at Anfield. However he has hinted at the possible involvement of Joe Cole who returned from injury on Monday.
Liverpool are reportedly planning an £18 million move for Benfica striker Nolito. Brendan Rodgers is said to be a huge fan of the Benfica forward who managed to score 15 goals in the league last season. Liverpool’s shortage of strikers is no secret and after some other high profile players were priced out of Liverpool’s reach, Nolito could be a great target.
Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has said that he may not be able to keep winger Wilfried Zaha in January if Liverpool come up with the right bid. Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of the fact that he needs attacking players at the club and Zaha would fit in well with his philosophy of fielding younger players as he is only 19-years-old.
Raheem Sterling could be on the verge of an England cap according to some media reports. Sterling has been a permanent fixture in the Liverpool squad this season and with Roy Hodgson searching for new and young attacking wingers, Sterling could make his debut for his country in the October World Cup qualifying match against San Marino.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has said that he has high hopes for teenage defender Andre Wisdom. Wisdom has played a key role in some of the club’s recent games and Rodgers has admitted that the defender has everything needed to be one of the Liverpool greats over the next few years. Wisdom’s main position is centre back but he can play as a full back on either side of the pitch.

Liverpool gaffer Brendan Rodgers has introduced a number of youth players into the first team in recent weeks which has drastically brought the average age of the side down. The average age of the Liverpool first team is currently 23.38-years-old.
Steven Gerrard has become the latest Liverpool star to join social media site Twitter. Gerrard has joined the site to promote the work of his foundation and has stated that he will not be using it to release Tweets on a daily basis ‘unlike some players’. Twitter and football have forged a rocky relationship with some players at some clubs banned from using it.
