Arsenal latest: Including Podolski and Walcott injury?

Theo Walcott has limped out of England's game against San Marino after just 10 minutes. He was replaced by Tottenham's Aaron Lennon, after the away side's goalkeeper collided with him. It is unclear if he has sustained any serious injury at present, but he looked in a level of discomfort as he left the field.

Germany national team coach Joechim Low believes Lukas Podolski is already benefiting from his recent move to Arsenal and has now become an ‘indispensable’ member of the team. The forward had a poor Euro 2012 which eventually lead to him being dropped by the coach in favour of Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus. However since his move from FC Koln the manager says he can see the ‘old’ Podolski coming to the fore ahead of their game with Republic of Ireland.

Adrian Lopez not Falcao is the main man on Arsene Wenger’s shopping list according to reports in Spain. The tricky forward, who has yet to score this season, would blend in well with Arsenal’s style of play and is used to playing in a three-man strike force. However a quoted proce in the region of £12million may put off The Gunners.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed that the decision to join Arsenal over Manchester United was a simple one as he just always ‘favoured’ Arsenal. The former Southampton protégé was wanted by both the giants and while he admitted he was always deeply flattered by the dual interest he always felt a move to Arsenal suited him better.

Arsenal have agreed a new sponsorship deal with continental betting site BWIN.com. The company have a rich recent history of sponsoring some of the biggest clubs in football with teams such as Real Madrid and AC Milan having recent deals along with Liverpool and Manchester United. They also sponsor MotoGP, Formula 1 and various other sporting events and the deal could be worth a good sum of money to Arsenal FC.

Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny are set to start for France in their friendly with Japan. Giroud is set to be handed a chance to answer his Franco-critics who booed him off during his last outing for the national team; while Koscielny will feature after recovering from a knee injury sustained in training for Les Bleus.

Lewis Holtby, a rumoured transfer target for Arsenal amongst others is prepared to sit down and talk with Schalke 04 officials about a potential new deal this week. The half English German international had been touted as a perfect addition to The Emirates clan considering his technical proficiency and positional versatility.

And finally Thomas Eisfeld has spoken to Arsenal.com about how much he has learnt in his short Arsenal career. The German youngster, who scored twice in pre-season and has earned rave reviews for his under-21 side turn-outs. He now hopes he can push on and into the Arsenal first-team.
