The Stunning New Revelations We Expect In Greg Smith's 'Why I Left Goldman Sachs'

Reservoir Gods

Goldman's finest are supposed to feel 'betrayed' that former VP Greg Smith is publishing his much anticipated tell-all. Well here's what we expect that's new is going to be in it.

The Financial Times quotes one senior banker who worked with Smith at Goldman, who said: 'It feels like a drive-by shooting for people here'.

Earlier this year Smith published his now-famous New York Times OpEd, which started like this:

'Today is my last day at Goldman Sachs. After almost 12 years at the firm - first as a summer intern while at Stanford, then in New York for 10 years, and now in London - I believe I have worked here long enough to understand the trajectory of its culture, its people and its identity. And I can honestly say that the environment now is as toxic and destructive as I have ever seen it'. And it didn't get much better.

Fast forward 7 months (and an alleged $1.5m advance), and Smith has turned his OpEd into a book, Why I Left Goldman Sachs, which is being published on 22nd October.
