Arsenal have been rewarded with the mantle of ‘club of the year’ when it comes to providing the best customer service to fans in an award scheme set up by both the Premier League and VisitEngland. Think the fans would much rather win the Premier League somehow …
…which is something the current deputy-in-chief for Arsenal’s goalkeeping position believes is possible. Vito Mannone reckons The Gunners will be challenging for the Premier League title come the end of the season and therefore end their long trophyless drought. The24-year-old Italian believes they have already navigated a few difficult ties so should be confident in their ability to win the league this season.
Arsenal have pencilled in a date for Jack Wilshere’s long awaited return from injury. The midfield maestro has been out of first-team action for 14 months with a series of serious injuries but Arsenal’s medical staff believes he will be ready for the League Cup tie on October 30th with Reading. He will be part of an Arsenal side that will face Chelsea in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Wednesday afternoon and it is now a matter of getting him into shape ahead of a potential return.
Arsenal will attempt to hijack one of their North London rivals Spurs major transfer targets when they move for Internacional’s striker Leandro Damiao. The Brazilian marksman has sparked plenty of interest across Europe in the past 12 months and it now seems The Gunners will try to lure him to The Emirates over White Hart Lane.
Cesc Fabregas has revealed he would have remained a Gooner for life if not for interest from his boyhood club Barcelona. The Catalan was speaking to French media ahead of Spain’s massive match-up with Les Bleus this evening revealing that he considers London the ‘most beautiful city in the world’ and Arsene Wenger was a ‘superb coach’.
Daniel Sturridge will leave Chelsea in January after becoming more and more disillusioned with life at Stamford Bridge under Roberto di Matteo. The England international wants first team football ahead of 2014’s World Cup in Brazil and Arsenal are expected to battle with Liverpool and Spurs for the former Manchester City youngster.
Turkish side Galatasaray have confirmed their interest in Arsenal full-back Andre Santos. The Brazilian admitted recently that a move to Turkey, where he previously played for Gala’s fierce rivals Fenerbahce would be very hard to turn down and now the Lufti Aribogan, the CEO of Galatasaray has confirmed they will pursue his signature in January; although have not yet made an official approach.
