Hires 18 Investment Representatives across eight offices in the US

Barclays announced today that it has hired 18 Investment Representatives in the Wealth and Investment Management division, in eight of its offices across the US.

New York

Tom Dexter joins Barclays as a Director from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he served high net worth individuals, corporate executives, partnerships, and foundations. Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2008, Dexter spent four years at Lehman Brothers as an Investment Representative. Previously, he worked as a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and Friedman, Billings, Ramsey & Co. Dexter holds a BA from The College of William & Mary and an MBA from George Mason University. Dexter is a Trustee and Executive Committee member of The College of William & Mary Foundation. 

Brett Fleckman joins Barclays as a Director from J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he focused on customized financial solutions for high net worth individuals. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2010, Mr. Fleckman was the New York Branch Manager for the Private Client business at Thomas Weisel Partners, and previously a Financial Advisor at Alliance Bernstein. He holds a BA from Syracuse University and is on the Planned Giving Committee of the NY Presbyterian Hospital Group. 

Mark O'Shea joins Barclays as an Assistant Vice President from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, where he advised high net worth individuals and families as part of the Moldaver 80 Group. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, O’Shea worked on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange managing the daily order flow for several investment banks and hedge funds. He holds a BA from Rowan University.

In addition to Dexter, Mr. Fleckman and Mr. O’Shea, Barclays announced on September 5, 2012, that Edward Moldaver joined as a Managing Director from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. Previously, he was a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns’ Private Wealth Client Services Group. He holds a BS from Widener University and has completed his Certified Portfolio Manager® (CPM®) certification sponsored by the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers® (ACPM®) and Columbia University. Moldaver is the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Guardian Angels, a non-profit international volunteer organization.

All four Investment Representatives report to Mark Stevenson, Managing Director and Regional Manager for New York. 

Los Angeles

Jonathan Bates joins Barclays as a Director from J.P. Morgan where he specialized in municipal bonds, working with high net worth individuals and middle market institutions. Prior to joining JP Morgan in 2009, Bates worked at Citigroup in the Institutional Fixed Income Group for seven years and at U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray Inc. for eight years. He holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Bates reports to Brian Sears, Managing Director and Regional Manager for Los Angeles. 

San Francisco 

Hugh Beecher joins Barclays as a Director from Credit Suisse’s Private Banking division where he served high net worth individuals and families. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Beecher worked in the Equities division of Goldman Sachs and also founded Beecher Investment Management. Beecher holds a BS in Economics and an MBA from Brigham Young University.

Mr. Beecher reports to Doug Ireland, Managing Director and Regional Manager for San Francisco. 

Boston

Patrick Delahunty joins Barclays as a Director from J.P. Morgan Private Bank where, as a Senior Private Banker, he focused on advising high net worth individuals, families, business owners, institutions and endowments and foundations to provide customized solutions for their wealth management needs. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2008, Mr. Delahunty worked at Alliance Bernstein. He holds a BS from Bentley College and serves on the Professional Advisors Committee for the Boston Foundation.

Timothy King joins Barclays as a Director from J.P. Morgan Private Bank where he worked as an Investment team leader, with high net worth individuals, families, public and private institutions, corporate executives, and business owners. Prior to working in private banking, King spent 10 years with JP Morgan Asset Management advising financial intermediaries and their clients. King started his career in the finance industry in 1994 with Eaton Vance Corporation based in Boston. He holds a BA from Denison University. 

Tim Humphrey, CFA joins Barclays as an Assistant Vice President from J.P. Morgan Private Bank, which he joined in 2008. In his role as Investment Associate he worked with high net worth individuals and families to serve their wealth management needs. Humphrey holds a BS from St. Michael’s College and is a CFA charterholder.

Brian Kelly, CFA joins Barclays as an Assistant Vice President from J.P. Morgan Private Bank which he joined in 2007. In his role as an Investment Associate, he worked with high net worth individuals and families to meet their wealth management objectives. Kelly holds a BA from the College of the Holy Cross and is a CFA charterholder. He serves on The Friends Council Leadership Committee of the Boys and Girls Club of Boston.

All four Investment Representatives report to Marty Courage, Managing Director and Regional Manager for Boston.

Dallas

Noble Nash joins Barclays as a Director from Credit Suisse’s Private banking division where he served high net worth families and institutions since 2000. Mr. Nash was a Director at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette Securities from 1998 – 2000, before it was acquired by Credit Suisse. Previously, he was a Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte Haskins and Sells. Nash holds a BBA from the University of Texas and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. 

Mike Whorton joins Barclays as a Director from Credit Suisse’s Private Banking division which he joined in 2000. Whorton was a Vice President in the Investment Services Group of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities from 1993 – 2000, before it was acquired by Credit Suisse. Whorton holds a BA from Washington & Lee University.

Chris Boley joins Barclays as a Vice President from Credit Suisse’s Private Banking division, where he worked with business owners, executives and foundations. Prior to joining Credit Suisse in 2005, Boley worked at JP Morgan in the Treasury and Securities division. Boley holds a BA from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Rice University.

All three Investment Representatives in Dallas report to Steve Head, Managing Director and Regional Manager for Texas.

Atlanta

Scott Macolino joins Barclays as a Director from SunTrust Investment Services where, as a Private Wealth Advisor, he served ultra high net worth individuals, corporate executives and professional investors. Prior to joining SunTrust in 2003, Macolino was a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch for ten years. He holds a BS from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from New York University.

Macolino reports to John Houlihan, Director and Regional Manager for Atlanta.

Miami

Carlos Gallo joins Barclays as a Director from UBS Financial Services, where as a Senior Vice President within the International division, he served high net worth individuals and families in Peru, Mexico and Venezuela. Prior to joining UBS, Gallo was a Senior Vice President in Investments at Wachovia Securities and a Financial Consultant at Lehman Brothers. He holds a BA from Boston College. 

Irl Solomon joins Barclays as a Director from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, where as an Executive Director, he served high net worth individuals, family offices and institutions. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Solomon spent 12 years in Credit Suisse’s Private Client Services division. Mr. Solomon holds a BS from Syracuse University and a MBA from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.

Jeannie Adams-Camblin joins Barclays as a Vice President from UBS Financial Services. At UBS, Ms. Adams-Camblin was a Vice President within the International division serving high net worth individuals and families. Previously, she held various roles at Wachovia Securities and Lehman Brothers. Ms. Adams-Camblin holds a BS from Barry University.

All three Investment Representatives report to Marylin Gonzalez, Director and Regional Manager for Miami 

Palm Beach 

Clark Appleby joins Barclays as an Assistant Vice President from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. At his predecessor firm, he assisted high net worth individuals and families with their wealth management goals. Appleby holds a BA from Dickinson College and is Chairman of the Young Professional Board for the Hanley Center in West Palm Beach.

Appleby reports to John Cregan, Director and Regional Manager for Palm Beach.
